Does it hurt?
There is discomfort with laser hair removal. Cold air is used during the treatment to help with the discomfort which most describe as a rubber band snap.
How many treatments will I need?
An average number of treatments is 6 to 8 spaced every 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area being treated. If you have hormonal issues or PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) you may require more treatments than average as you may have more hair growth. Special pricing will be given for those cases. After your series of treatments is completed, maintenance treatments may be needed.
Will it remove light-colored hair?
No, the laser cannot remove white, grey, or blonde hair. The laser is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair so it can only see dark hair.
Is it permanent?
Laser hair removal is permanent hair REDUCTION not permanent hair REMOVAL. This is why maintenance treatments may need done.
Do I need to grow my hair before the treatment?
No. You will be asked to shave the day of or day before your appointment.
